We are very honoured because we have been nominated for the best class blog in the Edublog Awards 2009.

There are lots of excellent blogs nominated with us. You may have a look at all of them here. Select your favorite class blog from the list  and click Vote OR scroll down the page to check out all blogs nominated in this category!

A big thank to all those who have motivated us to start and continue with this blog, and especially to Eduardo Peirano (@emapey), who was the person who nominated us for the contest. Classes have ended here in Argentina so we will continue working in this blog with the students in March, after a reinvigorating summer holiday. We all deserve it!

imagesHi my dear students! In class we’ve been making lots of predictions, so why not telling the world about them and see whether they become true or not?

1) Enter the page Nostradamical.

2) Click on login and enter the following information:

E-mail address (login): sainte.sextogrado@gmail.com
Password: exupery

3) Click on create a new prediction

4) Select a category

5) Write your prediction. NOTE: Your prediction should end in the next 4 years. It should be specific and be verifiable by the public.

For Example: Argentina will win the 2010 football world cup.

6) Then, you can add your opinion about the prediction, photos, interesting links and whatever you feel like it to support your opinion.

Here you can have a look at my prediction. Looking forward to yours. Let’s see which ones are considered the most likely to occur. See you next week.

Hello again my dear students! This week in class we have been talking about dreams, nightmares, daydreaming. Today we have seen two scenes from the film “The Unborn” and we have discussed about nightmares. If you are curious about the film, here you can see the trailer. If you happen to watch the movie, please tell us your opinion.

So today we will have a new contest. This time please tell us one of your dreams. It can be funny, scary, strange, or just a dream you like. Next week we will vote on the best dream. You can use these questions as a guide…

1) Where were you? Describe the place.

2) What did you see?

3) What did you do?

4) What happened next?

5) How did you feel?

Looking forward to your dreams…

Well, we all know that English is a crazy language. Why don’t they follow a rule and that’s it? Here you have a funny poem about the inconsistencies of irregular verbs and at the bottom you will find lots of exercises to revise for Tuesday’s test.

Verbs is Funny

A boy who swims may say he swum,
But milk is skimmed and seldom skum,
And nails you trim; they are not trum.

When words you speak, these words are spoken,
But a nose is tweaked and can’t be twoken.
And what you seek is seldom soken.

If we forget, then we’ve forgotten,
But things we wet are never wotten,
And houses let cannot be lotten.

The things one sells are always sold,
But fog dispelled are not dispold,
And what you smell is never smold.

When young, a top you oft saw spun,
But did you see a grin ever grun,
Or a potato neatly skun?

Hope you like it…And here comes the serious work. Remember that the topics for the test are: was/ were and Past Simple: regular and irregular verbs (affirmative, negative and interrogative). I will leave a list of links to some online exercises for you to revise:
